Menstrie Meeting 2003

We again held our popular all day meeting at the Scout Hall, Menstrie (near Stirling) in May for model building, demonstrations and a general chat. We also held our annual special race/challenge. This year it was a "Walking Race" challenge. See the Challenge Rules page for more details.

Menstrie Challenge - Report

The Walking Model Challenge was held at Menstrie on 17 May 2003. The object was to see which entrant could travel furthest using a walking motion using only a Meccano Postwar Clockwork Motor No.1.

There were three entries. Unfortunately one entry was disqualified as its motion did not constitute a motion readily identified as "walking"

The winner was Chris Shute. and in second place was Bobby Middlemass

Unfortunately the proxy entry of David Laurance was disqualified as noted above.
